Have your say on Haringey's SEND and Alternative Provision Strategy

Daytime session: Wednesday 21st January 2026, 10am - 11.30am, Chestnuts Community Centre

Evening session: Monday 26th January, 6.30 - 8pm, online

In January, we held two sessions for parent/carers on the consultation of the updated SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) strategy.

Parents had the opportunity to hear about the strategy principles and priorities, and give their views about the issues that were most important to them.

Key issues raised included:

  • Communication and a respectful culture that acknowledges parent/carers experiences
  • Provision for children unable to attend school
  • Training for mainstream school staff
  • Consistency of provision across settings
  • Better information for families at transition points

Now the consultation has closed, the local authority will look at the responses and finalise and publish the strategy.
