Share Your Views on Transitions for Young People with SEND

Wednesday 2nd July 2025 at St Ann's Library, N15 5PU

Every few months we hold an event jointly with Councillor Zena Brabazon, lead cabinet member for Children and Families. These events are an opportunity for local SEND parents to talk directly to Councillor Brabazon and senior Local Authority officers about their circumstances and how services are working to support them.

We usually have a theme; in July we focussed on transitions – how do services change for our young people as they approach adulthood?

We heard from Dennis Scotland about the work of the Transitions Team. Many parents expressed their challenges understanding what options are available and supporting their children to the next stage.

As a result of this session, we’ll be working with the council to improve the information about transition on the Haringey Local Offer website, to try to make it clearer for families.

Let us know your experience of transition support – what has worked well? What could be better? hello@sendpowerinharingey.org
