Our Charter

Haringey SEND Working Together Charter

Parents, carers, and practitioners from health, education, and social care in Haringey have worked together to create the Haringey SEND Working Together Charter.

Children and young people from Haringey entered our charter logo competition, and we had 4 winners.

What does the Charter do?

It sets out the values that underpin good working relationships – kindness, empathy, trust, safety and belonging.

In the centre is a logo showing 4 colourful hands holding each other. Around the logo are the charter values - kindness and empathy; trust; belonging; and safety.
Overall winner, Daniel, designed this colourful logo showing different hands holding each other. Around the logo are the charter values - kindness and empathy; trust; belonging; and safety.

It also sets the principles of families and practitioners working together, and what families should expect from practitioners.

An orange box with the words "feel valued and included" and a black heart next to it. Underneath in a white box with an orange outline there are 4 bullet points: acknowledge and value our families' experiences; recognise, build on and celebrate positives and successes; empower all to express their views, thoughts and feelings; get back to people in a timely way.

Principle 3: Work in equal partnership

A green box with the words "work in equal partnership" and an illustration of two people balancing on a see saw next to it. Underneath in a white box with a green outline there are 4 bullet points: have a shared commitment to work together from the start; respect, accept, and value all views and contributions equally; agree, plan, and review decisions and actions together; follow up and provide feedback.

A pink box with the words "communicate together" and an illustration of two figures together. Underneath in a white box with a pink outline there are 5 bullet points: communicate with openness, respect, and honesty; make time for communication; enable everyone to take part without judgement; acknowledge different views; recognise that things an go wrong - find a way to re-engage and move forward.
